Over the past two weeks, John and Brent spent a few evenings each week teaching a Conservative Retirement Planning Class at Santa Fe College.

Over the course of the class, students learned key concepts such as the trade-offs between risk, return, and liquidity; determining personal risk tolerance; myths and common mistakes in retirement planning; mazimizing Social Security benefits; and much more. 

We would like to congratulate each student who attended and completed the course.

Detective Andrea Useche, from the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, revealed numerous ways that scam artists can easily trick people into losing their hard-earned money.

From email phishing scams to fraudulent websites, Detective Useche emphasized that staying informed and being prepared for the different scams out there is the best way to keep yourself and your loved ones safe.

With driving ambition, over 80 golfers took a swing at the Seventh Annual Lake City-Columbia County Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament, which was sponsored by GulfCoast Financial. GulfCoast Financial's team included Randall Wainwright (from left to right), John Kuykendall, Matt Ludwick and Luigi Montolio.

Funding Technology in the Classroom

GulfCoast Financial Services, Inc. proudly presented Eastside Elementary School with a check for funding technology items used in the classroom. Teachers entered into a drawing at a breakfast hosted by GulfCoast Financial, and were asked to write down what the donation would go towards. Ashley Kennington, an ESE teacher, was the winner of the drawing and wanted funds for the school's technology needs.
